Webmaster: Here are the latest news from the Registration process. The places were filled within minutes, I didn't get any, 1,5 minutes after the registration opened...
Just a quick update on how
registration has gone. We have been massively oversubscribed and the
places for allocation in this phase were allocated within a couple of
minutes. There were however some places held by the system which should
have been allocated to teams who have been told they are on the
waitlist. These extra places will be allocated within the coming hours.
We will place a further update on the website shortly.

Webmaster: By now everyone should know how and where to register if you would like to enjoy the new year's debates in Cork. But, just to be on the safe side, here you go, all the info for you again.
Dear All,
Just a brief reminder that registration for Cork Worlds 2009 will be opening next Friday, August 1st at 2pm (BST).
Registration will be run online through our website (www.corkworlds2009.com).
In order to facilitate this, essential maintenance work will be
preformed on the Cork Worlds 2009 website this weekend, which may lead
to minor downtime. As a result I would suggest that all institutions
ensure that they have full access to our website early next week.
In stage 1 of registration you will be required to provide details
about your institution, contact details, details regarding the number
of adjudicators and teams that you wish to send and you will also be
asked to indicate what hotel your institution would ideally like to be
accommodated in at Cork Worlds 2009. In addition you will also be
required to certify that your institution is eligible under the World
Universities Debating Championships Constitution, and that the teams
which you will be entering will not be composite teams.
If anyone has any queries in relation to any of the above, or
indeed in relation to any aspect of registration for Cork Worlds 2009
please do not hesitate to email

Webmaster: Well it is getting pretty close, the day when we will all be sitting behind our computers and trying to get all our teams in. I will be here and hope that I will be able to get all the 3 teams and 2 judges in. 1. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable Summer!
Just a brief reminder for all those who wish to make an application
under our N-1 Waiver Programme as well for those who wish to come to
Cork Worlds 2009 as independent adjudicators and for institutions who
wish to send adjudicators over the N-1 requirement. The closing date
for applications is this coming Friday, July 18th, at 6pm BST. We will
then be reviewing all applications and will be getting back in contact
with all those who have applied shortly.
The Cork Worlds 2009 team is continuing to work hard to make sure that
the Championships are the best yet and are thoroughly enjoyable for
everyone! As always full information can be found on our website

Dear All,
With the EUDC 2008 fast approaching I'm sure everyone in Europe is looking forward to what I'm sure will be an excellent Championships.
With registration for Cork Worlds 2009 opening shortly after the EUDC this year, the Organising Committee for Cork Worlds 2009 will have a number of representatives in Tallinn to answer any questions that people may have.
We will have representatives from almost every Department of Championships in attendance, including:
* Adjudication.
* Finance & Procurement.
* Registration & Communications.
* Equity.
* Logistics
* Hospitality and Transport.
We look forward to meeting all of you and answering any questions you may have. In the mean time the very best of luck to all who are taking part and we hope everyone has a safe trip! In addition as always full information can be found on our website www.corkworlds2009.com
